.
I'm stuck here painting one of the cheesy-est posters ever for art, blogging and taking peeks at Pan's Labyrinth on the TV screen. Sure, it sounds like a kids movie alright. But ah, the blood and gore. FAR from what you would imagine a movie with a name like that would be :D
Well that's what I think lah. It really does sound like some Disney movie.. with a very weird story line. And it's in Spanish. With a hand full of violent torture scenes.
Movies nowadays are just getting a lot:
1) Weirder
Simple example: Pan's Labyrinth. I don't really get the story line. But then again I'm not the one watching it :P BUT yeah, little pixie things getting their heads bitten off by a monster who has its eyeball sockets on the palm of its hands? You tell me.
2) More violent and gory (-er?)
Ah, blood. A little blood in a movie is well.. normal. But nowwww it's like.. (here it comes, here it comes! :D) heads rolling everywhere, flying.. after being violently slashed off, bullets being shot in the back of the head and exiting through the eye socket, throats being slit (with cool sound effects), faces being smashed with some hard object (Pan's Labyrinth, hehe. No wonder my brother wanted to watch it), etc.
I feel like watching Sweeney Todd though - out of curiosity, haha :D
3) Sicker
The clothes tend to come off faster and the actors are less ashamed to uh, bare "everything/anything" on screen nowadays. And then there's the other 'sick'.. Scary Movie, Superheroes, Epic Movie kinda sick. Just for laughs? Haha.
4) Scarier
Ghosts, spirits.. demon possessed little girls.. 'nuf said.
Ah, what ever happened to the Mary Poppins days?
Speaking of movies.. I feel so outdated. I haven't even watched Ironman yet. Or most of the other supposedly-big-hit movies. Anyone? :D
p/s: Happy Birthday Irfan (22/06), Andrea (24/06), Rebecca (28/06) & Zaimah (29/06)! I know there's more to come, and I hope I didn't miss out any :P
