finally went for youth yesterday evening, after missing so many. session was (Y).
ate at the Garden restaurant @ the curve, stuffed witha turkey + pineapple sandwich. I didn't even know the restaurant was there; how long has it been, hmm.
I just love the lights there at night, I'm not sure why. 'cos to most it's probably nothing to rave about.

stayed up til close to 4AM wrapping presents/making cards.
eyelids feeling super heavy now.
had trouble keeping awake in church - especially when the sermon was about financial needs. baawring, but all was still good :)
lunch @ bayu timor's with kengean + elena, after sooo long. supposedly to go to bon bon's (BONSQUARE, elena?) but it was closed :( so yeah, bayu it is. ordered the smoked salmon spaghetti which was incredibly SALTY.
popped into famous amos after. mm, i knew i should've gotten a bigger bag of cookies. sho good.
and finally, after a month or so - i am still not done preparing for oral. 10 topics? you tell me. i've been sitting in front of the computer for hours now, and i haven't gotten anything substantial to talk about.

I didn't do much these holidays. Besides going out, catching a few movies
(Remember Me : so many scenes were cut, even the storyline was gone :( and Alice In Wonderland : was just. weird. It was.. quite a disappointment)

..shopping? etc. yeah, the rest of my time was just spent at home.

and no, mom I have not gotten to cleaning my room.

This was probably the first time I went to a beach and came back without a tan.

that's the beach noone's allowed to swim at.

we had to take a shuttle to the other side of the island - to another beach, if we wanted to swim. Pretty troublesome but, it's just a few minutes drive.

and this (below), is some ugly slug thing I saw as I was walking along the beach. Still can't make out what it really is. But I think it just looks like a giant leech. It's about the size of my foot (size 5!) and it was moving. Found more the next day. It gets longer when it's in the water! :S

The past week seemed like the longest week ever (yeahyeah I know, "PMR nothing wan laaa" - just don't ruin the moment ok :p) Though, it's funny to think that just two-three posts below I was dying to get it over with. And here we are.

Doesn't having a blog somehow make you realise how fast time flies. Especially if you only update like twice a week, tops. like me gahah.

Hmm. I really don't know what I'd do if I don't get to sit by the window during exams by the way. It keeps me.. occupied. Besides TRYING to sleep (tables are too hard to sleep on), drawing all over the question paper and staring at the clock I get to.. observe Siva train his hockey team HAHA.

OK NO. that's not why I prefer sitting by the window. It's just nice to have something else to look at for a change. Plus I love it when it rains :)

Oh yeah, and I've been staring at those two "statues" on the billboard along the highway too.. I still think they look pretty real :( I know they're way too big to be real but yeha, it fooled me the first time hahah.

Yeah. Right. So anyway, as the rest of the world went to ou and whatever, I headed straight home. I wanted to sleep so badly - not that I've been staying up late to study, really. I'm just not a morning person.

buuut instead, the first thing I did when I got home was push ALL my books aside. I've been wanting to do that for a long time now. And as I was sorting out which could still be used/given away etc.. I realised how little I studied. Well seems like it lah k :p

There was a HUGE difference between the two stacks of books; done and not done. I feel so guilty now, ahhah.

I know it's only been a few hours since the exams ended but I can't help but admit that i. am. bored. I've been looking forward to this day for so long but I guess I never really thought of what I'd do. Any ideas?

there are.. no good movies showing now, i think? I need to catch up on some old ones. yes, elenaaaa? :D hahah.

Yes, my brother has finally left for UK :( and I'm currently getting used to being home alone, since my mom went along too. And my dad's at work most of the time. Yay, laundry.

I'm guessing noone was planning to go to school on that day - since trials ended just the day before and all. BUT, the school kindly chose this very day to hand out the PMR timetable and yaddayadda forms. So yahh, we pretty much just went to school for those few sheets of paper.

I just needed that lousy picture of SAS - which turned out to be a great excuse to go to KL :D I'm through with rotting at home.

Petaling Street was.. disappointing. Out of all the stalls, 3/4 of them sold the exact same things. They're fake stuff; shouldn't there be more variety. Didn't see anything worth buying.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind making another trip to Central Market :) bagsbagsbags..

School's been the same. This week definitely past faster than it should have. I really don't know why but school in the morning seems to make the whole day go by a lot quicker. It's like you wake up, go to school, get home, spend a few hours and before you know it, you're back at school again.

And this has been going on like so 'til it actually feels like there are only 5 days in a month.

Woke up at 11 this morning - ahh, it felt so good to finally have the chance to wake up after 9 :)

My parents and I went straight to Jaya One for lunch, and to check out my dad's new work place. I don't think I'll mind visiting next time :) Haha. There aren't that many shops there.. but I like the atmosphere. And hey, there's a Starbucks :D

Spent the rest of the day on homeworkhomeworkhomework. And one miserable chapter of Sejarah; no mood :/

I broke my blinds.
I broke my mom's plate.
I broke the glass of this bigbig photo frame my dad chose.

all in a matter of weeks.

And I have this nagging feeling that one day, my phone might just break into half. It has flown off chairs, tables, beds, out of pockets etc multiple times. I'm surprised the screen hasn't cracked yet (I hope I don't regret saying this, man).

Went to Johor for the weekend to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. We didn't have much time to do anything though. But it still felt pretty good to be back :)

Had dinner at this restaurant called Futuna? (fu-chu-na.. fu-too-na? lol) Elena and I lost count of how many glasses of tea we had. They are seriously efficient when it comes to refilling.. a little too efficient? Haha.

Time passed reaaaally slowly today. Even though I woke up at 9, only to go back to sleep and wake up again at 12 :p I blame the weather.

Chinese New Year this time round was quite a bore.

We didn't go back to Johor - again. I used to dread going back there 'cos of the journey. Well you know, small kid; long journey.. not good :D But now I kinda miss my grandmother's house.

I miss the overgrown grass. I miss poking and prodding those vegetables she grew. I miss walking down the road, along the houses with my brother while trying to avoid those stray dogs. I miss comparing my height to that really tall cactus (I think it's dead now). I miss the fear of the way the people drive there? Nah. I miss visiting the people I only get to see once a year.

It's quite different celebrating Chinese New Year here at home. Although the company is pretty much the same, something's still missing. There's no 'vibe'. There's less hype, and it almost seems like it's not that big of a celebration.

We didn't do much visiting this year.

On the eve of Chinese New Year, we went to my uncle and aunt's restaurant in this.. ulu place. OK fine, it's somewhere in Klang, haha. Bandar Bukit Tinggi? I had high hopes we were going to the actual Bukit Tinggi. How cool would that have been, eh :D

But nah, it was this reallyreally big shopping complex. It was cold.. so I guess that made up for the weather we were missing.

The food was good. Us, kids took the opportunity to wander around the shopping complex after dinner while the grown-ups were talking.

There were a few performances around. And by performances I mean, skimpily-dressed girls who couldn't have been any older than 15 years of age, 'shaking' as though they've been shocked with a stun gun on stage. GOSH. The 'music' stayed in my head for a good hour or two.

The next day we went for a movie. What better time to catch a movie huh. The parking lot was empty. It feels like a tradition already, going for a movie on the first day. Anyway, Inkheart? I guess it wasn't too bad. Entertaining in a way :)

We watched..

IP MAN! at night after dinner at our place. Hahah, judging by reviews I just had to sit down and watch it. There had to be subtitles of course. Xiang jiao :D The sound effects were like, exaggerated a bit too much la. And all those limbs bending in just about every direction possible, eek. But still, probably one of the best chinese movies I've seen so far.

The second day was mostly spent at my other grandmother's place. My relatives had already gone back to their hometowns then, so it was just a few of us.

It was a quiet Chinese New Year for me.

I spent hours doing the drawings for KH. It's SO frustrating. Who knew it would be this hard designing BOXES :S Anyway, yeah.. still trying to finish off all that homework. I'm still hopeless at naming the parts, veins and whatnots of the heart. Guess that crosses out cardiologist for me? Haha.

What have I been up to?

- skipped Berjaya this week
My nose caused me a miserable Monday to start off with. Rubbing my nose every 5 seconds was a drag. I eventually lost the cold and gained a sore throat the next day. I missed out on star jumps and toe touches for house practice. Sounded like fun.

- got 'eaten' by Sandra's shadow.

- broke a plate
Dropped the fork/spoon. Attempted to catch it. 'Threw' the plate up instead. Plate burst into just about a billion pieces. Covered the whole kitchen floor. Lost a plate, gained tiny cuts on legs.

What a klutz.

- attended LEO for the first time
The bunch of us headed to Atria after school. We actually walked there without planning where we were gonna eat. Must have said/heard "where we eating, ah?" about 5 times. And so.. we ended up in KFC.

Atria looks like it's dominated by DJians at this hour, ahah.

Since we spent about half an hour making our way there, we ate.. lost track of time and ended up kinda late for the first meeting :D We sat at the back - couldn't hear anything. It was incredibly hot and stuffy in the hall. I wonder how those two classes can study in there :S

Yeah so.. how's LEO? I can't judge, by the first meeting. We'll see, ahha.

- Wan Jyn's thumb got stuck in the table, ahahah. OK, that was quite irrelevant but yeah :P

- went for the first CF meeting of 09 (which was.. today!)

I guess that just shows how much CF is growing. Take that, Dtn :D Worship was good. They then had a skit.. which at first I seriously did not get. It was kinda cool how they 'introduced' the committee through a skit, which revolved around a.. teh tarik cup? Haha.

So yeah, that was over. Andd haaa, walked in the hot,hot sun to 7-11 to wait for my mom. I swear I'm gonna get darker getting a good 5-10 minutes feel of the scorching sun everyday. My mom was late, killed time with Jeremy and Joshua.

Believe me, it's the sun.

We don't have time to eat before CF starts so, I shall now learn how to starve on Friday's.

That's just.. a few things I can remember from this week. Haha, I'm not used to writing every little detail down; just thought it was worth posting to remember. And to put that duller previous post outta the way.

I could get used to waking up early. I love observing the colour of the sky change, on the way to school. The colours are just so pretty. One day it's pink, the next orange or maybe purple. And the fact that the moon is still visible if you just tilt your head back an inch or two, amazes me.

I'd kill to get a shot of that.

With the silhouettes of the buildings and power lines below.. ahh.

I've been counting down the days 'til the 1 week break. And it's finally here, Happy CNY everyone :D

The past week has been tiring - just tiring. Lacking sleep, time and everything else I need.

Yeah, so school has been alright. So far, so good.

We got most of the nice teachers this year :) I said most. Don't get me started on civics. Gosh, the amount of work we get for that one subject is just (...) - Batai's getting slightly noisier everyday. Well at least I think so? Anyway, that's a good thing whatever it is.

We've been having PMD since yesterday. The only thing I found useful so far, was the career test thingo. It's not exact.. but at least I'm a little more convinced, in some way? Hah, 'cos I have absolutely no idea what I want to be.

And so did those civics exercises just kill me. Everything, trust me EVERYTHING had something to do with our ambitions, one way or another and yaddayadda.

Besides that, it was mostly moral values and.. stuff lah. The usual PMD stuff we do every single year. So, yup.. boringboring. The plus side was that we didn't have any lessons. And that's about it, I guess.

OH. And Berjaya practice? HAHA.
It was different, very different :D

I'm afraid this is gonna be one of those soppy posts.

This new year's day has given me a whole lot of mixed feelings. The feeling of being in the third form is still sinking in. I don't know if I should be looking forward to the next 364 days.

But I guess it's something I'll have to get used to. I felt exactly the same at the start of last year.

And now, looking back at 2008, it was all worth it.

I really wanted to do a post for New Year's Day. But I'm not good with long wordy posts, so yeah. As I was looking through a few camp pictures, I thought it wasn't a bad idea to just post a few pictures here and there, taken throughout 2008.

I came across the word "bokeh" one night while browsing through the photos on Flickr and I had no clue what it meant. It sounded like some slang, so my chances on finding it on Wiki were probably nil. But anyweiii, no harm trying right?

I finally got a chance to watch Australia yesterday. It was long. 2 hours and 45 minutes long. But it was one of the better movies I've seen lately.

and yes, that was what I did instead of going to school to check the list. Guess I didn't really have the need to go there myself anyway. Haha, thanks Elena. Coming home to see everyone's personal messages online was also enough to find out who were and weren't my new classmates.

And like everyone else, I agree that the streaming for next year really does bum :/ Feels so.. segregated.

19th December 2008:
(Oh, how much had I wanted to crawl into a hole and hide that night)

I went to watch A Christmas Carol with my mom and her friends. It wasn't really planned for me to go, but I didn't really have another choice so, heck I tagged along. The journey there wasn't very.. pleasant.

Anyway, I finally had a chance to see KLpac. Didn't have much time to explore the place though. But yeah, it really is a modern place.

The singing was great. I really liked how they synchronised so many parts. I don't think I've watched A Christmas Carol before. Scrooge isn't Donald Duck's uncle :P

The play got a little boring at some point. Or maybe it was just me; I couldn't really concentrate towards the end. I was trying so hard to keep myself awake. Guess this is what happens when you're deprived of good sleep for 2 weeks.

20th December 2008:
We were told some Christmas concert was gonna be held at church. I had no idea what it really was about so yeah, I just went outta curiosity :D

The night started off with a few performances from our church. The musical performances were really good. How cool is it to have a pianist, a violinist and a cellist in your own family? :D

After all that, Enoch performed. OKAY, I admit I didn't know Enoch was a guy and not a group 'til I got there :P But yeah, anyway.. he's one talented pianist. He grew up learning the piano by ear.

I'm really amazed by people who can play so smoothly without looking at the notes. It takes a lot to memorise all that, no?

21st December 2008:
It was our last Youth service for the year. We didn't do anything big but we had a simple meeting. The new committee for 2009 was introduced. Change; it's gonna be different next year :)

Quite a number of people testified about camp too. There's just too much to say.

So, the usual Sunday routine - plus some last-minute Christmas shopping. Then we went to my grandmother's place for dinner. I had no idea (once again) it was the Chinese celebration thingo 'til.. the day before.

Yes, I do fail as a Chinese.

The journey there was very, very long. I think we had the longest Monday EVER. The time difference made it seem as though our day was never gonna end. We wouldn't have survived if we hadn't caught up on some sleep in Dubai. Well, what else could we do for 6 hours? :P

Yeah, so another 7 hours after Dubai and Hallelujah, we arrived. Sweet land.

I feel stupid 'cos as soon as I stepped out of the airport I thought someone blew smoke in my face or something..

GY Camp '08. is. over.

Overall it was great. The experience, everything. Let's just say I've been holding back a lot in more ways than one lately. The second night changed quite a bit. I feel so relieved now for some reason. I say it's better than last year's.

And yes, like most I was reluctant to go and felt like pulling out 2 weeks before. But I'm glad I didn't.

I'll elaborate more when I get a chance to grab those camp pictures :)

It feels so good to be back.

I couldn't remember what heat felt like. 3 weeks seriously was too long. But overall, it was really quite nice to experience winter (that doesn't include the cold). Anyway.. nomore plane rides for me (PLEASE). In total, 28 hours of plane time is more than enough.

Plane food brings back LOTSA memories, doesn't it Elena? :D

I had no mood for any plane food on the way back.

I wonder how the air stewards do it; repeating "would you care for a croissant?" a zillion times throughout the whole cabin. I couldn't stop laughing when one of them went "tea? tea? tea? tea?" :P

So I spent my morning clearing the two shelves upstairs. Sorting everything out. My mom has been asking me to do so for ages. I had the time; nothing else to do - so yeah, why not?

I'm pretty amazed by the amount of trash I had stored up there (over the past two years) after separating everything; the amount of paper, old exercise books, bits and pieces, old drawings etc. And not to mention dust.

I found two sketch books with dates written on each page for every drawing. The drawings date back to 2004. Oh, I couldn't really believe I used to draw like that. Or even draw those things. All those Manga-inspired drawings - disproportionate eyes.. the type that take up like 3/4 of a face.

Yes, they were ugly and I'd be very embarrassed if anyone but me saw them now :P

Though, it made me feel rather nostalgic at one point.
It made me realise how fast four years had past.

In less than two months we would be doing this whole 'cycle' once again. This year has been really.. unexpected. And I'm pretty sure in these two months, something else will happen. 2008 has been and is still gonna be one heck of a year.

Quantum of Solace put together in 10 (not so different) words; crash, bang, kill, kill, blood, crash, bang, kiss, kill, bang.

Was never a fan of James Bond movies. We watched Quantum as an early birthday present for my dad. I couldn't really pay attention 'cos.. 1) I realised I had to pee the moment the movie started, 2) I didn't watch Casino Royale - this movie has some relation to it. Just watch the previous movie, 3) I had an almost sleepless night before.

I felt like I was sub-consciously awake for 6 hours that night. It was as though I had forgotten to think about anything weeks before and apparently decided to that night.

Well over all, the movie wasn't that bad. I don't have anyone else to blame but myself, haha. Definitely would've enjoyed it more if I understood the storyline and made a trip to the toilet (?)

It feels so good to know that I don't have to do anymore last-minute studying, preparing for papers the night before, and blahh :D OK, so exams were a drag. Especially since they moved it to the end of October this year. It got in the way of so many events - including Loud, darn it.

Anyway, I'm still glad it's all over now.. aren't we all? :D I feel so free I could.. fly (not funny, Jeremy). It just kinda sucks that the exams ended on the last day of school. No time for fooling around and all that :(

So, OU today. With my mom. Did some shopping. Saw sooo many familliar faces. Oh, Sandra I just realised I spelt "pushi" when I texted you, ahha. Yay, Dictionary? :P (Yes, CS and Pow I do feel weird using the word "dictionary" now, thanks to you guys.)

Who actually means it when they say 'lol'?

Laugh out loud.

From the way I see it, we use 'lol' when we don't even find something funny. It's like saying, "ha-ha, I'm not really laughing". Or as a cover up - when you think you've just said something lame. You don't seem that lame anymore when you add a spontaneous 'lol' after that :P

True?

I have no idea how this or that works, but saying 'lol' in caps really gives you a whole new impression of it. Same word, just in capital letters. Now, imagine if you're really cracking up and in response you give that person a 'lol'. Not very expressive, is it?

Funny how IM language works ._.

Most of the time, I can't get a message across, the way I want it to without using one or two of those little yellow bald guys/girls (emoticons are rather gender-less) with different expressions on their faces.

Through IM there's absolutely no tone in your sentences. Just plain reading.

So that's where the emoticons come flooding in :)

I tend to use a lot of emoticons in my sentences. Sometimes even after every sentence. So much I even annoy myself, haha. Without them, everything I say will just seem so.. serious? And trust me, I hate sounding serious all the time.

Quite depressing, you know.

Oh, and please. Noone uses IM terms when they speak..

Youth was a lil' different than usual. We were all asked to move to the front and an activity was carried out (we never do that..). Anywayyy, we had to match body parts? They're pieces of paper, if you're wondering, hah.

Funny how much easier it is to pay attention when you're seated like just 5 feet away from where the pastor's preaching.

My mom picked me up after Youth. We already planned to go ALL THE WAY to Bangsar to get a dress. Yes, I. need. a. dress. For my aunt's wedding.

The last time I went to get a haircut, we were flipping through some magazines. And there was quite a number of nice dresses there. And yes, the shop's located in Bangsar. But I wasn't really keen on getting it from there.

And by then, neither me or my mom could remember the name of the shop and WHERE it is. It's in Bangsar. Yes, that we knew. But there's Bangsar Village I, II and the Bangsar Shopping Complex. Boo. So we took our chances and made our way ALL THE WAY to Bangsar. I said I'd most likely remember the name of the shop once I see it.

So we had a look a the directory once we reached. Buuut,
Bangsar Village I?
Nothing sounded familiar, AT ALL.

Bangsar Village II.
NOPE.

There went RM4.50 down the drain for parking.
Wasn't exactly wasted though. I finally got a chance to eat at Marmalade's :D Food's good there. Really.

We left for.. The shopping complex. Found the shop. And it was SO disappointing. I don't think they even had more than 5 dresses hanging there. Hardly any clothes too. What a waste of time -_________- That place was pretty rundown. I didn't think it would be like that.

So yeah, we paid another RM1.60 (and no, I don't always remember how much parking costs. So happened I was looking when my mom was paying for the ticket :P)

My mom reminded me about the shop in Atria. Eye Candy. You know.. that shop.. noone dares to go in. Well I know we didn't. 'Cos it even looked pricey from the outside. But they had a sale, and we were probably a lil' desperate by then, so why not :D

After trying on many uncomfortable, puffy, frilly, weirdly designed dresses. I finally found one. And it was the last one the lady assisting us took out for me to try :P Gahah.

M, J and I just sat at the pavilion yesterday before school. We had a hard time breathing. With all that laughing. Our stomachs hurt so badly. And now whenever I'm around when J reads, she points at where she's at 'cos she's afraid I'll spoil the surprise when I try to guess where she's at, HAA :D

I told myself I'd start studying once the holidays were over. But 'til now, I just can't seem to bring myself to open those books. Pft, procrastination.

I spent a LONG time in the garden today trying to get a few shots. The deadline for the Sony thing's today. What I got so far, isn't.. good enough. Blah :F

It seemed as though there was less hype about Merdeka this year.

Until last night.

All that foam in your face, all the screaming, shouting, dancing? (LOL AT THE GUYS), jumping, singing, strangers patting your head several times all of sudden out of nowhere, the feeling of soap all over you without any water, guys aiming mineral bottles right at you and going "PSSSSSST!", scaring the hell outta you when they're actually just trying to do their job to sell 'em..

You get the picture.

The countdown at the Curve was just crazy. I didn't expect it to be so.. out of hand? Hah. It started of pretty boring though, walking to and fro the Curve and Cineleisure. We stoned for about 3 hours before proceeding to the event place.

The whole group of us got reckless and started spraying each other with foam when we were there. So much that we managed to finish our sprays (?) before the actual countdown -___-

I could tell everyone was staring at us. Hahaa DJians, oh. the. shame.

All those spots you see, is how dirty my camera lens is. My digital's failing on me :(

(IT'S ALIVE!)

OK, so I haven't been blogging much. Last post; August 12th. Honestly feels weird blogging again.

The holidays seem like they've just started. But it's ending in what? More or less than one day (?!) Right now I really wish I had another week. I haven't been doing much. And I'm dying to get out.

Since my brother's term breaks are all different.. (pft, college) we only get to go on a holiday as a family once this year. So yeah.. My parents decided to go to Malacca (again) and PD on the way back. Out of desperation, maybe? :P

But it wasn't all bad.

The last time we went there we probably swore we'd never go back. But I guess we gave it another chance? So whatheck. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.. I mean if you put aside the..

1) LARGE amount of flies
2) polluted, sludge-like water

It's a pretty nice place.

We didn't go into the water at all though. But seriously, you can't see pass less than one foot of the water. Seriously. Still wanna jump in? :D

Lately I've been project-ing non stop. Stupid school system. And just when I thought I had FINALLY finished my KGT, I remembered. Those maps. I hate colouring, seriously.

We have debate for oral this time round. Beats singing anytime, haha. But someone? Please help. I mean pft, what can I say to disagree with 'tuition is a waste of time'? How ironic. I'm on the opposition side.

I haven't blogged like this for awhile.
